Christine Ferreira

Director

 

Christine graduated in 2003 from Quinnipiac University with a B.A. in Psychology. She danced four years with the Quinnipiac Dance Company and became President of the Company in 2002. She is experienced in Ballet, Jazz, Modern, Tap and Hip-Hop. She has taken classes in Manhattan at The Broadway Dance Center and Steps on Broadway. She has danced at Hammerstein Ballroom and has been in several Off-Broadway Musicals.

 

Christine has been a dancer for the AFL’s New York Dragons at Nassau Coliseum and appeared on NBC. She was invited on ESPN’s “Cold Pizza” as a celebrity guest. She also was a dancer for the USBL’s Westchester Wildfire performing at the Westchester County Center. She danced for the New Jersey Nets at Continental Airlines Arena during the 2004-2005 season and performed on “The WB Morning Show.”

 

Christine has performed all over Westchester and has danced for several Entertainment Companies and in a Music Video. She has taken master class and teacher training from Finis Jhung, David Howard, Mia Michaels, Mandy Moore, Brian Friedman, Wade Robson, Sheila Barker and Frank Hatchett.  She began choreographing in college for the Quinnipiac Dance Company and discovered she loved teaching as well as performing.

 

She works well with children as well as adults and enjoys helping them toward their individual dance goals. Christine teaches at both locations and directs and choreographs for the Company Dancers.

Jessica Grafer

Director

 

Jessica majored in dance at The University of Hartford with “The Hartt School of Dance.” She has studied dance since the age of four and is experienced in Ballet, Jazz, Modern, Tap and Hip-Hop. She has taken classes all over Westchester and at Broadway Dance Center in Manhattan.

 

She performed in an off-Broadway musical and has danced for several Entertainment Companies. In 2004 she danced for the USBL’s Westchester Wildfire.

 

Jessica taught a dance program for young children with Cortlandt Recreation in the fall of 2004. She danced in the 2005 - 2006 Season as a NY Knicks City Dancer. She was recently a featured dancer in Danny Aiello's Music Videos, "Dance With Me" and "City of Lights".

 

Jessica has taken Master class and teacher training from Mia Michaels, Many Moore, Wade Robson, Brian Friedman, Laurie-Ann Gibson, Dan Karaty, Shane Sparks, Luam and Chio.  She has a love for choreographing and teaching dance and would like to pass on her knowledge and passion to young dancers. She loves sharing her passion for dance teaching at both locations and choreographing for the Company Dancers.

 

Michael Buoni

Instructor

 

Joining us from New York City and currently a resident choreography for the Jersey City Ballet, Michael has been classically trained in Ballet, Modern, Jazz and Lyrical.  He has danced with such companies as Ohio Ballet, North Carolina Dance Theater, Dayton Ballet as well as a modern company, Michael Mao Dance.  He is Russian trained in his approach and focuses on proper body alignment.  His love for the art of dance extends to all and we are happy to have him on staff at Dance Expression.

 

Alonzo Williams

Instructor

 

Team CeeLo Alonzo has managed dancers and singers alike.  He recently had the pleasure of fully choreographing two routines for the Grammy nominated artist of the Year, Jidenna.  Alonzo’s credits also include being featured on America’s Best Dance Crew with his team Rhythm City, and choreographing for artists Tal and Sharaya J. He choreographed for the 2014 US Open, MTV’s MADE and CW’s “The Next” for artist Frankie Z.  He has shared the stage with some of the biggest artists in music today like: Missy Elliot, LMFAO’s Red Foo, Sean Kingston, Fatman Scoop, Busta Rhymes, Jadakiss and Lil Mama.  His international tour credits include China, Japan, the United Kingdom and Switzerland. We are excited to welcome his challenging choreography and motivating personality to Dance Expression!

Catherine Skojec

Instructor

 

Catherine grew up in Binghamton, NY studying dance since she was 5 years old. She continued her dance and theatre education at SUNY Cortland where she received her degree in Musical Theatre. She most recently performed on The Wizard of Oz National Tour, and has traveled across the country with numerous regional theaters performing in shows like Anything Goes, A Chorus Line, Oklahoma, Hello Dolly and many more! In addition to performing, Catherine has taught full time in dance studios working with recreational and competitive students in New York as well as masterclasses across the U.S. and Canada. She also works occasionally as a dance competition judge along the East Coast. Catherine still studies in New York City at Broadway Dance Center and Steps on Broadway working with leading professionals to stay up to date with the latest choreography and teaching techniques. She most recently finished an Intensive with Broadway choreographers and dancers such as Rachelle Rak (Flashdance, Dance Moms, Broadway's Fosse) Joshua Bergasse (choreographer for Broadways’ On the Town, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and So You Think You Can Dance), Sara O'Gleby (choreographer for Disneys’ Frozen Musical) Randy Skinner (42nd Street and White Christmas choreographer) and Richard Hines (Come From Away Associate Choreographer and Newsies Associate Director).

 

Kelly Kline

Instructor

 

Kelly, originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, is a New York City based dancer, teacher and choreographer. Her training began at Just Off Broadway Dance Studio where she studied many different styles and was a member of their national award winning competition team. She holds a BFA in Dance from Shenandoah University, where she was awarded the Terpsichore Award and the Elizabeth Weil Bergmann Choreography Award for her excellence in both performance and choreography. Kelly has performed works by artist including Mike Esperanza, Tiffanie Carson, Christopher K. Morgan and Stephanie Martinez, to name a few. She is also a Balanced Body certified Pilates instructor. Kelly continues to grow as an artist and teacher, sharing her passion and creativity any chance she gets.

 

Heidi Freyer Craig

Instructor

 

Heidi received her early training from her mother, Linda Freyer. Heidi went on to receive her BA in dance at UCONN and earned her Independent Study Certificate at The Alvin Ailey American Dance School in NYC. She apprenticed and performed with The Thomas Ortiz Dance Company in NYC and The Connecticut Ballet Company in Stamford, CT. Heidi is an ABT® Certified Teacher, who has successfully completed the ABT® Teacher Training Intensive in Pre-Primary through Level 3 of the ABT® National Training Curriculum. To round out her skills, Heidi pursued her Pilates certification through Power Pilates and additional certifications in Barre fitness including one from the well known Exhale.

 

Erin Finn

Instructor

 

Erin is from Louisville, Kentucky. She graduated from Western Kentucky University with a Bachelors in Dance and received further training at Alvin Ailey Summer Program, Complexions Contemporary Ballet, Visceral Dance Chicago, American College Dance Festival, and Elements Contemporary Ballet. She has performed both nationally and internationally in New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles, the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and across Italy. She lives in New York City, and when she is not dancing or performing, she is working as a NASM certified personal trainer and stretch therapist.

 

Courtney Myers

Instructor

 

Courtney is from Houston, Texas. She graduated Cum Laude from Point Park University with a B.F.A. in Dance, where she had the opportunity to study and perform works by Doug Bentz, Garfield Lemonius, Ron Tassone, Kassandra Taylor and Marissa Balzer. Courtney was trained in the Royal Academy of Dance Syllabus through Advanced two , by Catriona Steel and also attended the Houston Ballet Academy. She has continued her studies at Peridance, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, River North Dance Chicago, Leon Dance NY and Movement Invention Project. Courtney is also a certified fitness instructor and dance teacher with Dance Masters of America. Some of Courtney's recent work includes performing for Royal Caribbean International Cruise Lines, Michael Susten Company, Moody Gardens and commercial for CITGO.

 

Owen Hill Jr.

Instructor

 

Inspired by the music videos of artists like Usher and the late, and great Michael Jackson, Owen began dancing at the age of 11. After winning a school talent show at the age of 13, he really knew that performing was for him. Owen was self taught, but in hopes of taking his talent to the next level he began taking classes in New York City. After a couple years of hard training he began auditioning and soon found himself dancing along side the very person he grew up watching, Usher. He also was featured on many major television networks such as MTV, VH1, BET, NBC and FUSE, has done tours, movies and commercials. He shares his passion of teaching hip hop around the world, from Paris, France to the Philippines, and now right here at Dance Expression!
